A last minute scheduling change means that I will be in Chicago for Texas Instruments’ T3 International Conference this weekend. While I don’t know all that I’ll be doing at the conference, my contacts at TI have shared with me a couple of interesting items to report in advance of my arrival in Chicago.
Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik
First, TI has secured a major star to attend the conference. Mayim Bialik, who portrays Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’s huge hit comedy, The Big Bang Theory, is going to be at T3 as a speaker and participant. Bialik doesn’t just portray a scientist on TV; she actually has a Ph.D. in neuroscience, so it’s going to be interesting to hear her thoughts on math and science education. I’ve been given the opportunity to interview her on Saturday morning, so if you have questions you’d like me to ask, please submit them in the comments below for consideration
Second, I’ve been told there will be a technology announcement made at the conference as well, and that I’ll get a chance to discuss it with with Mark Fry. Since Fry is the head man at TI with the TI-Nspire, that would indicate another Nspire related announcement. Last year at this time was the announcement of the TI-Nspire CX. What kind of news can we expect this time? I have honestly not received any indication.
